Levamisole Hydrochloride Yellow Crystalline Powder for Restore Immune Function
English name: Levamisole hydrochloride,1-b)thiazole,2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-6-phenyl-,monohydrochloride,(s)-imidazo(;1-b)thiazole,2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-6-phenyl-,monohydrochloride,l-(-)-imidazo(;1-b]thiazole,2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-6-phenyl-,monohydrochloride,(S)-Imidazo[2;citarinl;decaris;Imidazo[2,1-b]thiazole,2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-6-phenyl-,monohydrochloride,(S)-;kw-2-le-t;L-2,3,5,6-Tetrahydro-6-phenylimidazo-[2,1-6]-thiazole
Properties: white to pale yellow crystalline powder, odorless, bitter taste. Melting point 227-229 ºC. Soluble in water, methanol, ethanol and glycerol, slightly soluble in chloroform, ether; insoluble in acetone. Under acidic conditions again stable under alkaline conditions decompose failure.
This tetramisole L-body activity of about four imidazole (racemic) 1 ~ 2 times, but the side effects are lower. Microtubule structure and the drug may inhibit parasite. Levamisole also excited immune regulation and immune function. Roundworm, hookworm, pinworm and Stercoralis disease has a good effect.
Levamisole appears to act as an immunorestorative agent in the presence of immunosuppression resulting from recent surgery and chemotherapy, but does not stimulate the immune response to above normal levels. May be related to T-cell activation and proliferation, augmentation of monocyte and macrophage activity, and an increase in neutrophil mobility, adherence, and chemotaxis. Does not have cytotoxic effects.

Levamisole hydrochloride is an antihelminthic drug that has been tried experimentally in rheumatic disorders where it apparently restores the immune response by increasing macrophage chemotaxis and T-lymphocyte function.
Levamisole Hydrochloride is the hydrochloride salt of the synthetic imidazothiazole derivative levamisole with anthelminthic and immunomodulating activities. In immunosuppressed states, levamisole may restore immune function by: 1) stimulating antibody formation, 2) stimulating T-cell activation and proliferation, 3) potentiating monocyte and macrophage phagocytosis and chemotaxis and 4) increasing neutrophil mobility, adherence, and chemotaxis.
